Birthstone's

Let's talk about birthstones.

Do you know what yours is? You might have more than one to choose from. There are a few months that are represented by more than one gem, which means we can choose our favorite. Or better yet, we can choose them all! We're lucky like that.

January: Garnet

I have always loved garnets. My grandma had a set of heirloom garnets that she passed down to my mom. They were a deep, juicy red, still beautiful today. What makes them really versatile is the variety of different colors they come in-from green to peach to yellow green.

February: Amethyst
These gemstones have the appearance of purple fire. If purple is your color (and if you were born in February, it is), you cannot go wrong with amethyst. It's your destiny.

March: Aquamarine
The color of the sky and the sea, this gemstone is perfect for the month of March, with the promise of springtime right around the corner. It is the color of tranquility and calm.

April: Diamond
Need I say more? It's a diamond.

May: Emerald
Vibrant colors can evoke so many emotions. I could fall right into this green. There is just nothing like it in all the world. Ireland's got nothing on the emerald.

June: Pearl, Alexandrite, and Moonstone
My favorite month! June babies, we've got three different birthstones to choose from. Or get them all. Fun fact: pearls are the only gemstones that are produced from a living creature. Alexandrite and Moonstone are just as special, with colors that will knock your socks off.

July: Ruby
These fiery gemstones will get your blood pumping! They literally make me want to conquer a foreign country. They look great on skin.

August: Peridot
Peridot is supposed to be magical, if you believe in that kind of thing. If you don't, just buy it because it's pretty. You won't regret it.

September: Sapphire
The sapphire: icy-cool and blue. They are related to the ruby in mineral composition and beauty, and are just as iconic in the world of gemstones.

October: Tourmaline and Opal
I almost wish I had been born in October because these two stones are out of this world! Any gem that comes in a watermelon-red is sure to please. Likewise, opals are the only gems that seriously rival NASA space images. Not only that, but opals come in a variety of colors that are all lovely to look at.

November: Topaz and Citrine
Topaz comes in a number of different shades, and has been used in adornment for well over a thousand years. Citrine is unique because of its golden honey hue, both bright and warm.

December: Tanzanite and Zircon
Last but not least, we have two more birthstones in shades of mostly blue and purple. Tanzanite happens to be my favorite. It reminds me of galaxies.

Each birthstone is unique and special, just like you. But there's no reason to be limited in your selection based on when you were born. Claim whatever birthstone fits you best.
